[00:00:06 - 00:00:09] Welcome back to stole my line. I'm Grant. Oh
[00:00:11 - 00:00:13] And I'm true
[00:00:14 - 00:00:16] Well roll it through
[00:00:16 - 00:00:31] Just kidding guys Drew is actually here
[00:00:32 - 00:00:36] That's fireman mask feel it's really hot. I can't see
[00:00:37 - 00:00:41] But I'm sure it looks sick. It looks pretty sick. Okay. I would say so
[00:00:41 - 00:00:43] I mean the rest of your outfit doesn't really match
[00:00:43 - 00:00:49] And your eyes are probably out of battery aren't they? Yeah, they were supposed to move with this little controller. They don't move
[00:00:49 - 00:00:51] They're not gonna move you had that mask
[00:00:52 - 00:00:58] Like three weeks. Oh my gosh, I didn't even know you had I know that's crazy. I can't breathe
[00:00:58 - 00:01:04] So I'm gonna take that off today. We are talking about spider-man homecoming which guys. I'm going to meant. I'm pretty high on
[00:01:04 - 00:01:09] Which probably shouldn't shock that many people if you've been around stole my line for long enough
[00:01:09 - 00:01:14] But I'm excited to talk about it. If you're interested in any spider-man live-action content. Oh, hi Drew
[00:01:14 - 00:01:17] Hey, well, I can I can breathe again. We got you
[00:01:17 - 00:01:22] We have a whole playlist of all of our spider-man live-action reviews for our spider-man marathon. It's true
[00:01:22 - 00:01:28] So thank you for being here hit that subscribe button Drew. Yeah, what did you think a spider-man homecoming? All right?
[00:01:30 - 00:01:34] This might be this might be a debate for the ages so
[00:01:34 - 00:01:36] you might think
[00:01:37 - 00:01:42] Because I own the mask from homecoming which is a very cool mask which is sick. I like homecoming and
[00:01:44 - 00:01:49] You'd be half correct. So you half like home. I have like homecoming. I
[00:01:52 - 00:01:55] Don't think it's a good spider-man movie. I do think it's a good movie
[00:01:57 - 00:01:59] There is a difference there is a difference
[00:01:59 - 00:02:06] And I think that is what we were going to get into some contention on with these movies and our spider-man raking specifically
[00:02:06 - 00:02:07] Yep, but
[00:02:07 - 00:02:09] Obviously spoilers for spider-man homecoming
[00:02:10 - 00:02:15] We're set within the MCU spider-man has been introduced in a movie prior in Civil War
[00:02:16 - 00:02:19] we didn't really know much about spider-man besides he was a kid from Queens and
[00:02:20 - 00:02:25] He was just kind of new to his powers and he got a suit upgrade from Tony Stark
[00:02:25 - 00:02:31] And then that's what the beginning of this movie says and here we are here. We are I
[00:02:31 - 00:02:35] Want to hear can we start with your gripes because I don't have a debate over this
[00:02:35 - 00:02:39] Okay, let's do it because I wrote a very long letter box review by the way. I know I read it. Oh you did
[00:02:40 - 00:02:43] Okay, wait now. I don't even know if that's good or bad
[00:02:43 - 00:02:50] Everything's falling right now. Oh, yeah, I did read it. I thought it was interesting. Okay. I mostly
[00:02:51 - 00:02:56] Disagree, but that's okay. Really. Okay. All right. Let's dig into why okay here are my guys with this movie
[00:02:56 - 00:02:58] okay spoilers for homecoming and
[00:02:59 - 00:03:02] Any past spider-man movie because we might reference back. Yes
[00:03:03 - 00:03:05] okay
[00:03:05 - 00:03:10] The reason this is not a good spider-man movie is because there were no consequences for Peter's actions
[00:03:10 - 00:03:15] Basically at all. I disagree and I know I cuz I read your letter box. Do you disagree? I do disagree
[00:03:15 - 00:03:21] But I have written every action that Peter has basically that has meaningful consequence in the movie or at least should
[00:03:21 - 00:03:27] And the consequences that actually actually occur. Okay. I'd love for you to list them. All right
[00:03:27 - 00:03:30] First one is Peter ditches nationals
[00:03:31 - 00:03:36] Yes, do the stark internship, which is just him to be spider-man. Yes, then the consequence is
[00:03:37 - 00:03:41] Nothing and he is instantly welcome back. No hesitation
[00:03:41 - 00:03:45] Because he's smart. Yes, that's true, which is like okay
[00:03:46 - 00:03:48] Peter ditches net at the party and
[00:03:50 - 00:03:55] The net has one line. He says hey, thanks for bailing on me and that is the consequence
[00:03:56 - 00:03:58] Yes to Peter's actions
[00:03:58 - 00:04:04] Honestly kind of makes not a good friend. Let's be real, but I see what you're saying, but not necessarily the most realistic friend
[00:04:04 - 00:04:06] That might be true as well, but
[00:04:07 - 00:04:10] then Peter ditches nationals again in
[00:04:11 - 00:04:13] DC and
[00:04:13 - 00:04:15] His consequence is detention
[00:04:16 - 00:04:19] Yes, which he probably leaves detention
[00:04:20 - 00:04:25] With basically I mean he has detention for the rest of the year, but it's not really harped on in the movie at all
[00:04:25 - 00:04:29] It's like he walks out at his attention like it's got free and then
[00:04:29 - 00:04:33] It's implied that he has detention the rest of the year. So if you want to count that as a consequence
[00:04:34 - 00:04:40] That counts even though it's off-screen and we don't feel it as the audience. We can count that. That's okay. Okay, and
[00:04:41 - 00:04:47] Then here's the big one is Peter loses his suit and this is that is one of the big ones
[00:04:47 - 00:04:52] This is what I've seen spider-man fans be like who like homecoming are like well Peter loses the suit
[00:04:52 - 00:04:55] That's the big consequence of the movie and I hear you and that's fine
[00:04:56 - 00:04:57] but
[00:04:57 - 00:04:59] Can you tell me audience and maybe you?
[00:05:00 - 00:05:02] How that affects Peter?
[00:05:04 - 00:05:06] Period yeah, I can okay. I
[00:05:07 - 00:05:12] Have a lot to say here. All right, you got but here here's I'm gonna answer your question first
[00:05:13 - 00:05:17] Peter goes through an arc very very similar and this could be a gripe for some people and that's okay
[00:05:17 - 00:05:20] But very similar to what Tony goes through in Iron Man 3
[00:05:21 - 00:05:25] Him losing the suit forces him to go on this arc and rely on himself
[00:05:25 - 00:05:32] Like that is a core spider-man thing of relying on himself and his powers and his ingenuity and his strength and all this stuff
[00:05:32 - 00:05:38] And that's what he does for the rest of the movie. So that consequence of him losing his suit is actually really good for his character. I
[00:05:39 - 00:05:44] Agree my argument would be with Tony. We have two movies really two and a half of
[00:05:45 - 00:05:47] Why the suits matter to Tony?
[00:05:48 - 00:05:50] Yes with Spider-Man
[00:05:50 - 00:05:56] We have two series that don't really I mean like the suits important, but it's not like
[00:05:57 - 00:06:04] What he has and then in homecoming he thinks is awesome, but like that's about it. It's not like because like without
[00:06:05 - 00:06:08] The suit Tony Stark has no powers. Yeah without
[00:06:09 - 00:06:15] Tony Stark's suit for Peter Peter has the exact same powers except he can't do like different web configurations
[00:06:15 - 00:06:17] Yeah, and I see what you're saying. I think like
[00:06:18 - 00:06:24] Where my argument kind of takes on like a bigger scope and it's funny because it's about to be about the scope of the movie
[00:06:24 - 00:06:31] It's that this movie has a smaller scope and it's set super early in Peter Spider-Man career
[00:06:31 - 00:06:37] I know the timeline is like super different with Uncle Ben's death and everything but like the moment of
[00:06:37 - 00:06:43] Where the line is said with great power comes great responsibility is not said yet in this Peter's timeline
[00:06:43 - 00:06:45] it's said later obviously and
[00:06:46 - 00:06:47] so
[00:06:47 - 00:06:51] Like he's an infant Spider-Man and he's still in high school
[00:06:51 - 00:06:55] And I know we have high school Spider-Man in the amazing Spider-Man movies
[00:06:55 - 00:06:59] We just got to watch that for this specific iteration
[00:06:59 - 00:07:03] I think because the scope is smaller the consequences are smaller
[00:07:03 - 00:07:06] And I think that's okay like for this movie
[00:07:07 - 00:07:15] Specifically and then going to the suit thing is it a lesser version of the Iron Man 3 storyline for sure like totally is
[00:07:15 - 00:07:20] But for Peter it's still a good story like it's still something that happens and he learned something
[00:07:20 - 00:07:24] And so like I'm not gonna knock the movie for having Peter go through a like a story arc
[00:07:24 - 00:07:26] I don't think it's good for him
[00:07:26 - 00:07:30] Even if it's maybe not as good as Tony's was in Spider-Man 3. I'm not gonna knock the movie for that
[00:07:31 - 00:07:33] Right. I mean I'm not saying that
[00:07:34 - 00:07:37] Peter's arc is necessarily bad from like a writing perspective
[00:07:38 - 00:07:40] But I think it is bad from a
[00:07:41 - 00:07:43] understanding of the character perspective
[00:07:44 - 00:07:47] Okay, I think this is like where we're going to disagree over the coming trilogy
[00:07:48 - 00:07:54] I think it's okay that they take their time like I I think it's so okay
[00:07:54 - 00:07:57] And like I'm I'm going to probably not budge on this ever
[00:07:58 - 00:08:06] Okay, but is it okay to have because I agree in the sense of where we are at the end of no way home
[00:08:07 - 00:08:10] Leading into a brand new day. I haven't seen it yet. It's like a third of the way into
[00:08:11 - 00:08:13] Raimi's first movie, right?
[00:08:13 - 00:08:17] Okay, that feels like a problem. Maybe it is and we'll talk about it
[00:08:17 - 00:08:24] Okay far from home and no way home, but for homecoming. I don't think we can knock homecoming specifically for the movies that come immediately after
[00:08:24 - 00:08:26] I just don't think we can
[00:08:26 - 00:08:32] Like homecoming still works as its movie in its own little time frame in early Spider-Man. I still think it works
[00:08:32 - 00:08:34] And he still learns stuff
[00:08:35 - 00:08:39] Yes, is it as good as what
[00:08:39 - 00:08:42] Spider-Man learns in Spider-Man one. No, it's not
[00:08:42 - 00:08:49] But the core themes of Spider-Man are with great power come to responsibility and your actions have consequences to be careful
[00:08:49 - 00:08:53] What you do? Yes, I would argue none of those themes are very present in homecoming
[00:08:53 - 00:08:57] I'm going to disagree and I said actions don't have consequence except for like losing the suit
[00:08:57 - 00:09:01] Which really doesn't affect him. I'm going to disagree. I'm going to pull up my letterbox review
[00:09:01 - 00:09:07] I wrote something that I feel like I'm still pretty insistent on and like this is a debate over this movie
[00:09:07 - 00:09:11] Then we'll talk about what we'd like to dislike about the movie, but so
[00:09:12 - 00:09:15] He he loot like he loses the suit right in the movie
[00:09:16 - 00:09:20] Peter learns not to rely on technology by himself and then he realizes
[00:09:22 - 00:09:25] Some of his great power so like in that moment when he loses the suit
[00:09:25 - 00:09:29] Even if it's not set explicitly even if it's not like fully realized yet
[00:09:29 - 00:09:33] He realizes that he himself has great power not the suit his identity is not in the suit
[00:09:33 - 00:09:37] Sure, that is a realization of his great power. Yep, and then he takes on his great responsibility
[00:09:38 - 00:09:43] Sacrificing his budding relationship with Liz to take on his like great responsibility and stopping culture
[00:09:43 - 00:09:49] Is it the greatest power and the greatest responsibility? No, but it's still a with power comes great responsibility
[00:09:50 - 00:09:54] Moment within this small scope very small scope, and I think that's a Spider-Man moment
[00:09:55 - 00:10:00] And I wrote that in my review and you said you read it I did I was waiting for
[00:10:01 - 00:10:05] So I just I understand that's like not the full realization of that
[00:10:05 - 00:10:11] I understand that we have a different version of Uncle Ben's death later in the trilogy and we'll get into that
[00:10:11 - 00:10:13] But I still think this movie
[00:10:13 - 00:10:17] like the identity of who is Spider-Man and who am I as a superhero is
[00:10:18 - 00:10:22] Still core to Spider-Man and it's not dealt with in the same ways at all
[00:10:22 - 00:10:27] It's probably not dealt with as well in this movie, but I still think it's there present in the movie. It's not like absent
[00:10:29 - 00:10:31] Yes, I
[00:10:36 - 00:10:42] Think I agree, okay, I will give you this is a small win for me a slight
[00:10:46 - 00:10:49] I do you think that is it that is a good eight. Well, okay, not good
[00:10:49 - 00:10:53] I think that is a Spider-Man moment where he leaves Liz at the homecoming dance
[00:10:53 - 00:10:58] I would argue this movie doesn't do a great job at making us care about Liz. That's fair
[00:10:58 - 00:11:00] No, like she's kind of just like an annoying teenager. Yep
[00:11:01 - 00:11:06] That's fair, and we don't really care about that relationship as opposed to
[00:11:06 - 00:11:10] When yeah, or even Peter MJ and Spider-Man one
[00:11:10 - 00:11:17] Where's like even Peter and MJ in this trilogy? Yeah, honestly, like I'm not I'm not saying this movie doesn't have some problems or like
[00:11:18 - 00:11:20] Doesn't fall short in some areas. So, okay
[00:11:20 - 00:11:26] I will agree that is a that is an attempt at a spider-man moment that I think is serviceable. Okay. I don't necessarily think it's good
[00:11:28 - 00:11:31] Jury's out. Let us know in the comments if you agree with me or drew on this one
[00:11:31 - 00:11:38] But I think where I think this movie shines is in the scope. This is a small movie. I like that
[00:11:38 - 00:11:40] I think vultures a good villain. I
[00:11:41 - 00:11:45] Agree, I think I agree. Okay. Tell me all your thoughts on vulture. I
[00:11:46 - 00:11:50] I and this is a problem that I have with kind of ultra emissary. Oh, I don't love that
[00:11:51 - 00:11:55] I don't love the Tony Stark centric Ness of the first two movies. Okay
[00:11:56 - 00:11:59] Because they're spider-man movies and not Iron Man movies. So
[00:12:01 - 00:12:03] Both villains are like directly linked to Tony Stark
[00:12:04 - 00:12:08] Kind of exclusively and spider-man just kind of like jumps in there
[00:12:09 - 00:12:15] Because he wants to I would say tombs is a little bit more of like it's not a direct link to Tony
[00:12:15 - 00:12:21] It's not like Tony did something to tombs directly. Well, I guess indirectly, but I see what you're saying. Yes, like he
[00:12:22 - 00:12:23] Tony
[00:12:23 - 00:12:27] Tony is the face of damage control which stopped him from
[00:12:28 - 00:12:34] Continuing his operation. Yes legally. So then he goes to illegal means the thing that I like about tombs is
[00:12:35 - 00:12:41] That the plot twist in the at the beginning of third act really freaking go great really freaking good phenomenal
[00:12:42 - 00:12:46] In that scene when they're in their car is great the lighting when the light turns green
[00:12:46 - 00:12:50] Okay, and he's killing it. It's so good. It is very good that moment. It's awesome
[00:12:50 - 00:12:53] And I think Michael Keaton's performance is overall fantastic
[00:12:53 - 00:12:55] Yeah, I think this is one of the better-written
[00:12:56 - 00:12:58] Spider-man villains he has as a movie villain
[00:12:58 - 00:13:02] He is very sympathetic and I think like if you take all spider-man's catalog
[00:13:02 - 00:13:06] He's probably in the upper tier. He's not the best one. I agree. I would say he doesn't really hold a candle to duck
[00:13:06 - 00:13:08] And it's where we love to phone
[00:13:09 - 00:13:11] I think he's
[00:13:11 - 00:13:13] Potentially better in the moment to foes green goblin
[00:13:13 - 00:13:20] But like green goblin doesn't really get any of his traction from the writing is just from one of those oral green goblin. Yeah
[00:13:21 - 00:13:26] And anyway, jury's out on that, but I still think vulture is a higher-tier villain that elevates the movie genuinely
[00:13:28 - 00:13:30] Yes, I sorry and like I know
[00:13:32 - 00:13:33] Like I
[00:13:33 - 00:13:36] Don't know. I kind of go back and forth. I don't love Liz
[00:13:37 - 00:13:40] But I like that the like I like that Liz is there as a
[00:13:40 - 00:13:45] Small high school crush because then she's utilizing this plot twist. I'm like, oh my gosh
[00:13:45 - 00:13:51] This is my like girlfriends dad. Yeah, I think that's it. It becomes a little more personal, which I think is interesting
[00:13:51 - 00:13:53] Yeah, I agree. So I
[00:13:57 - 00:13:59] Again, I think this is a good movie. I
[00:14:01 - 00:14:03] Have qualms with it from like a spider-man perspective
[00:14:03 - 00:14:04] Okay
[00:14:04 - 00:14:10] But I think I have the most in a shallower for this movie of any I think I've seen this movie
[00:14:11 - 00:14:16] Probably over 30 times. I think it's like it still holds up pretty well. I think it does. I
[00:14:17 - 00:14:19] once owned a Kindle fire
[00:14:19 - 00:14:24] Which was like a touch screen Kindle like tablet type thing
[00:14:24 - 00:14:29] Downgraded iPad and I had one movie downloaded on it and it was this spider-man home going
[00:14:29 - 00:14:31] I think I watched this movie
[00:14:31 - 00:14:35] Probably 30 times when I was in high school just because I loved
[00:14:35 - 00:14:40] Being the same age as Peter Pumper right because I literally was I was like a freshman high school when this came out
[00:14:40 - 00:14:45] It was I can quote like 70% of this movie. Yeah, it is I mean, I think this is a good time
[00:14:46 - 00:14:49] If we're sucking it up against like the better spider-man moments
[00:14:49 - 00:14:54] It probably doesn't even hold a candle to the amazing spider-man 2 I agree
[00:14:54 - 00:14:59] But I think it's also a better movie than the amazing spider-man 2. I you think I disagree
[00:15:00 - 00:15:06] Did this is a if we're taking the average of this movie versus the average of the amazing spider-man 2
[00:15:06 - 00:15:12] This is a better movie. So straight up is a better movie end of discussion or a spider-man movie. I
[00:15:13 - 00:15:19] Say movie end of discussion. Yes, I agree debate it on our spider-man raking. Okay. What do you think? Sorry?
[00:15:19 - 00:15:21] No, you go. What do you think about the technical aspects of this movie?
[00:15:23 - 00:15:27] CGI all that stuff. I think it's very serviceable. I would agree
[00:15:27 - 00:15:31] I don't think it's anything and that's another thing kind of annoys me about
[00:15:32 - 00:15:35] this trilogy specifically is like you're on the soldiers of Rami and Webb and
[00:15:36 - 00:15:41] Both of which have distinct styles both of which have very distinct styles and then you just kind of make a bland
[00:15:42 - 00:15:47] MCU movie, which is like fine. Maybe it's studio interference. Maybe Marvel wants everything to look the same
[00:15:47 - 00:15:51] I don't know but that is kind of disappointing. Yeah, it does kind of had that same
[00:15:52 - 00:15:56] MCU glaze over. Yeah, so it's unfortunate, but
[00:15:57 - 00:15:59] Brand-new-day looks to be rectifying that
[00:15:59 - 00:16:01] We'll see. I hope so
[00:16:02 - 00:16:06] You like this trilogy and you're still apprehensive about brand-new-day. I'm going to be apprehensive
[00:16:07 - 00:16:14] For basically anything Marvel. Yeah, that's fine and Sony Loki except for spider-verse. Well, that's Lord and Miller and that's still Sony
[00:16:14 - 00:16:19] No, it's Lord and Miller. It's different. I kind of agree actually. Um, I don't know. I like this movie
[00:16:19 - 00:16:23] I think it's a positive experience. I like the high school vibes. I like the John Hughes influence
[00:16:24 - 00:16:26] I think this is funny. There's a lot of
[00:16:26 - 00:16:28] funny physical gags of Spiderman
[00:16:29 - 00:16:32] I think the script is pretty funny. You're the spider-man
[00:16:32 - 00:16:38] From YouTube and like it's silly. Yeah, like also they were like freshmen in high school, right?
[00:16:39 - 00:16:42] So like it's going to be so I think this is one of Tom Holland's best performances Loki as
[00:16:43 - 00:16:46] Spider-man at least I think no way home is better
[00:16:47 - 00:16:48] That's probably true
[00:16:48 - 00:16:52] But I still think like he's really good in this movie. He's good. He's super charismatic for sure
[00:16:52 - 00:16:56] He looks like a young spider-man. He does. That's something I would say. He looks like a kid
[00:16:56 - 00:16:59] Yeah, he I think I thought like oh man
[00:16:59 - 00:17:02] He's so much older than me when this came out and he still is like a
[00:17:02 - 00:17:06] Good deal bit older than me like a few years. I think it was 19 when I filmed this movie
[00:17:06 - 00:17:09] Yeah at 19 or 20. He looks like he's six. He looks like it's 15. Yeah
[00:17:10 - 00:17:15] It's kind of crazy, but no, I still think this is good experience. I like some of the characters
[00:17:16 - 00:17:19] Is it a switch up from all the other spider-man iterations?
[00:17:19 - 00:17:22] Yes, but I also think that some of the decisions they made in making this movie
[00:17:22 - 00:17:29] For example, we're not doing the Uncle Ben or just story depth. I do like that. They strayed. I I think it's a good move
[00:17:30 - 00:17:35] At least in retrospect. I think it was a good move. I liked it this trade, but they don't feel like
[00:17:36 - 00:17:40] They strayed to anything interesting, which I think is my problem, but I like that they moved
[00:17:41 - 00:17:45] Does that make sense? I just don't know where you land now. Are you like somewhere in the middle?
[00:17:45 - 00:17:47] Like it's good, but it's not that good
[00:17:47 - 00:17:49] For the movie as a whole sure
[00:17:50 - 00:17:51] Yeah
[00:17:51 - 00:17:53] Okay, I think I'll give it three and a half. I
[00:17:54 - 00:17:58] Give it four. I know I'm confident that I thought I thought that was kind of high, but that's okay
[00:17:58 - 00:18:01] You know, it's fine. Sometimes we just agree with each other trading through. That's okay
[00:18:02 - 00:18:07] All right, should we get into our spider-man ranking? Let's do our yeah, let's do our spider-man. Okay
[00:18:07 - 00:18:09] This might be contentious
[00:18:09 - 00:18:14] I'm okay with conceding another argument here because it's all I do on this series with you
[00:18:14 - 00:18:18] All right, so for our spider-man rankings number one, let's clarify again
[00:18:18 - 00:18:26] Okay, how much of the percentage in this discussion a spider-man movie versus quality of film from me from any other objective perspective
[00:18:26 - 00:18:31] That we hardly wants to just go straight 50 50 now. I cannot be 50 50 either spider-man movies are your adaptations
[00:18:33 - 00:18:38] We okay, we can't play the adaptations card. Why it is an adaptation if you do not adapt the character correctly
[00:18:39 - 00:18:41] Is that not a bad movie?
[00:18:41 - 00:18:46] If the Game of Thrones show butchered the books, wouldn't she be like well, they look he did
[00:18:46 - 00:18:50] Okay, well, I know and you think it's bad the seasons of the okay
[00:18:50 - 00:18:55] Yes, but like also if the writing is good then I can like I can forgive it a little bit
[00:18:55 - 00:19:01] Okay, I agree. I would argue the writing is mid to bad here here from a like okay
[00:19:01 - 00:19:03] I just let me think of an example last of us
[00:19:03 - 00:19:09] Last of us if you adapt something but add your own spin and you make it good last of a season one
[00:19:09 - 00:19:14] Yeah, I like it. I'm like I think this is great. Okay, but if you adapt the core
[00:19:15 - 00:19:17] Principle of your character and water him down significantly
[00:19:18 - 00:19:25] That feels like I just don't think that I think that homecoming does a better job of like general adaptation and stuff
[00:19:26 - 00:19:28] Then the last of season two does
[00:19:32 - 00:19:38] Okay, you raise the comparison okay, whatever what what's the sweat that you wanted to be I think it's be 70 30
[00:19:39 - 00:19:40] 60 40
[00:19:40 - 00:19:42] These are moving targets in our brain
[00:19:43 - 00:19:45] 65 35 it is I think that's fine
[00:19:45 - 00:19:51] Okay, somewhere in the middle. All right at number one. We have spider-man two and up to we have spider-man one at number three
[00:19:51 - 00:19:53] We have the amazing spider-man at number four
[00:19:53 - 00:19:59] We have the amazing spider-man two and number five. We have spider-man three. Okay homecoming is better than spider-man three. I
[00:20:00 - 00:20:06] It is true. It is true. This this is a better movie and spider-man movie. Yeah, I think
[00:20:07 - 00:20:11] The execution is horrible. It is it is it is I'm saying it is okay
[00:20:11 - 00:20:17] This is this is the slot. Okay. How about this? It's not better than the amazing spider-man. It's not
[00:20:18 - 00:20:24] Yeah, I'm okay with that. Okay, so it is either better or worse than the amazing spider-man two
[00:20:25 - 00:20:27] That is where we're going to land with this movie
[00:20:29 - 00:20:31] You know what I think I
[00:20:31 - 00:20:32] Will let you give your argument first
[00:20:32 - 00:20:38] You give me a genuine argument for why the amazing spider-man two is a better movie than spider-man homecoming
[00:20:38 - 00:20:44] It has better spider-man moments or actions of Peter consequences. It has way more sauce in the movie looks so good
[00:20:44 - 00:20:47] Okay, now please list all the detractors from that movie
[00:20:48 - 00:20:54] The plot's terrible. Yes. It is a plot. It's kind of a rough watch for like 45 minutes of it
[00:20:55 - 00:20:59] Yeah, the villains are terrible. Yeah, it's a way better villain than
[00:21:01 - 00:21:03] Villains I agree
[00:21:04 - 00:21:09] Yes that the Peter Gwen moments are better, but the spider-man moments are better. Yeah, that's fair
[00:21:09 - 00:21:13] And this is a spider-man adaptation. This is not an electro vulture rhino adaptation
[00:21:18 - 00:21:22] Yeah, but like we have to we have to factor in is the villain good or not. I know
[00:21:23 - 00:21:25] That's where the
[00:21:25 - 00:21:32] 35% comes in but I'm saying okay. I'm saying the 65% spider-man of amazing spider-man two is probably like a 60
[00:21:33 - 00:21:34] four
[00:21:34 - 00:21:36] Okay, okay. No, here's what we're gonna do
[00:21:36 - 00:21:41] Let's say we have a 64% out of that 65% okay. Yeah
[00:21:41 - 00:21:46] Yeah, I would say we have like a 40% in the in homecoming out of that 65
[00:21:47 - 00:21:54] Cuz that we're doing we're doing some math here. Are you ready a 40% for you? I think 30 30% spider-man
[00:21:57 - 00:21:59] I 35
[00:22:00 - 00:22:07] 35% out of 65 you think it is a I think there's a there are good fireman. There's one you mentioned one moment
[00:22:07 - 00:22:09] Can you give me another? I?
[00:22:09 - 00:22:10] mean
[00:22:10 - 00:22:13] Are if we're talking little moments, I think Peter's like
[00:22:14 - 00:22:19] caricature is very spider-man-y like I think as a Peter Parker Spiderman. He feels very spider-man
[00:22:21 - 00:22:23] Low-key sometimes more so than Andrew
[00:22:24 - 00:22:28] That's blasphemy. No, it's not at least an amazing fire in two
[00:22:29 - 00:22:35] No, I think I just agree. I I'll settle for 32. Sure, okay 32% version 64
[00:22:35 - 00:22:41] 64% versus 32% we have a a phantom 35% in quality of movie. I
[00:22:42 - 00:22:47] Think that homecoming wins every single percent of that 35. I don't think it was ever
[00:22:47 - 00:22:50] It's not the craziest plot you've ever seen alright 30% of I think that's fine
[00:22:50 - 00:22:54] I think the amazing fireman 2 wins almost none of it
[00:22:56 - 00:22:58] Okay
[00:22:58 - 00:23:00] Even if we give it 5
[00:23:01 - 00:23:03] Currently it's 62 to 64
[00:23:05 - 00:23:07] You're right, okay fine
[00:23:07 - 00:23:10] And with our mathematics with our heart
[00:23:10 - 00:23:12] Probably a pain to listen to
[00:23:12 - 00:23:15] Hey, no, this is dumb. I still disagree with this
[00:23:16 - 00:23:18] This is stupid
[00:23:18 - 00:23:20] Or whatever
[00:23:23 - 00:23:25] This is so dumb, okay, well you like
[00:23:26 - 00:23:32] We own 50% of this podcast individually. You can argue your side. I will listen. I did and I know everything I said
[00:23:32 - 00:23:36] I don't keep arguing alright fireman homecoming is a fifth best fireman movie
[00:23:36 - 00:23:41] Which I think is stupid let us know if you disagree that homecoming is a better movie than fireman 2 on the record
[00:23:41 - 00:23:45] So if you disagree, which were you please back me up in the comments
[00:23:45 - 00:23:49] But we can come to an agreement it's a better movie in spider-man 2
[00:23:49 - 00:23:55] I know and it has good fireman moments, but whatever okay, maybe we'll revisit this ranking later
[00:23:55 - 00:24:01] Maybe the next few movies will make fireman homecoming kind of raise up in our minds who knows I
[00:24:03 - 00:24:07] Doubt it our rating. Okay, where do you feel with fireman homecoming?
[00:24:08 - 00:24:15] I'm okay with theater theater. It is guy. That was easy. Yeah, I drew you're at a party. I'm at a party
[00:24:15 - 00:24:20] It's a chill birthday party. Yep. You don't know a lot of people. Yep. It's fireman homecoming is on the TV
[00:24:21 - 00:24:22] What are you doing?
[00:24:22 - 00:24:28] As someone who's been in this situation before you have yeah for sure. I would sit down and watch spider-man homecoming
[00:24:29 - 00:24:33] Okay, again. I like this movie. I think it's good. I have lots of nostalgia
[00:24:33 - 00:24:37] Just don't think it's a great adaptation of my favorite character ever and that's my problem
[00:24:38 - 00:24:40] That's fair. I mean let's know in the comments again
[00:24:40 - 00:24:43] Yeah, for sure if you think that like you have huge issues with this movie
[00:24:43 - 00:24:48] I think it's still a good movie and a positive spider-man experience. I don't think it's a negative one
[00:24:48 - 00:24:53] No, I think I think this movie is a positive experience doesn't add a ton to the character spider-man not really but
[00:24:54 - 00:24:59] For Tom Holland's fireman, which might run now rumored another five or six more movies
[00:25:00 - 00:25:04] We didn't know this could be a good start to that run, so
[00:25:05 - 00:25:07] We'll see. Yeah
[00:25:07 - 00:25:10] Jerry's out on that. We shall see true. What do we have coming up next?
[00:25:11 - 00:25:14] Obviously, we got no a nope. We got far from home tomorrow
[00:25:14 - 00:25:19] Then no way on the next day. We are seeing brand new day on Wednesday. Yes, slightly early
[00:25:19 - 00:25:23] So we're gonna drop a no spoiler review as soon as humanly possible
[00:25:23 - 00:25:27] It'll either be late Wednesday night or Thursday morning depending on the vibe
[00:25:27 - 00:25:34] Yep, and then probably Saturday. We will have a big brand new day video. Yep going super in-depth on everything
[00:25:34 - 00:25:37] What do we like? What if we not like what we didn't like?
[00:25:37 - 00:25:43] We're here our house of the dragon in currently are two more episodes until that season is done true
[00:25:43 - 00:25:51] Stay tuned for that lanterns around the corner. The new trailer looks pretty good. So I'm excited. Yep. We have a
